The private tour offer at Swiss Local Adventures didn't start as a business decision. It started as a habit. Every time a guest on one of the group tours mentioned something they wished they could do, a specific mountain, a longer hike, a visit to a place Pierre had mentioned in passing, the answer kept being the same: we can do that, just not on this tour. After hearing that enough times, the answer changed to: we can do that. Message us. The requests that came in shaped what the private offering became. Not a generic "hire a guide" service, but a genuine design process, starting from what someone actually wants and building backward from there. Some of the best days we've ever run came from a two-line message that said "I want to see something nobody else sees." That's still the brief we love most.

*What kind of experiences can you create? Almost anything that's possible in the Bernese Oberland and beyond. Hikes, farm visits, lake experiences, canyon walks, cheese and wine tastings, sunrise tours, multi-day routes, family days, romantic evenings, corporate outings. If you can imagine it in Switzerland, we can likely build it. *How far in advance do I need to book? For simple half-day experiences, a few days is usually enough. For complex multi-day itineraries or large groups, 2–3 weeks gives us the best chance to do it right. Last-minute requests are always welcome, we'll tell you honestly what's possible. *How many people can join? From 2 to large groups. For bigger groups we work with trusted partner guides. Tell us your group size and we'll design accordingly. *Can you combine multiple activities in one day? Yes, that's actually where private tours shine. A morning hike followed by a farm breakfast and an afternoon wine tasting, that kind of day is harder to build from separate bookings and easy for us to design as one seamless experience. *What if the weather changes on the day? Your guide monitors the forecast and will contact you the evening before if conditions require a change of plan. Having a private guide means the itinerary can flex in real time, we adapt the day rather than cancel it. *Do you offer multi-day itineraries? Yes. We can design 2, 3, or 4-day programs across the region, including accommodation suggestions if needed. Tell us how long you have and we'll make the most of every day. *Is a private tour significantly more expensive than a group tour? It depends on group size. For couples or groups of 4+, the per-person cost is often comparable to a premium group experience, and the difference in quality is significant. We'll always give you a transparent quote so you can decide.

Our tours can be affected by weather conditions, however it is difficult to predict exactly how a trip will be impacted until the day of the activity. Please make sure we have good contact information for you so we can reach out if your trip is changed or cancelled due to poor conditions. If you have not heard from us, it means we are still planning to run your trip as scheduled, or we have not yet made a final decision based on the forecast. If we are not able to run your trip, we will try to accommodate you on another date, another activity, or we will issue you a full refund.

Cancellation requests must be made at least 48 hours before trip time to be eligible for a refund. In case of cancellation by the organizer due to weather or safety reasons, a full refund or rescheduling will be offered.
