Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 23 October 2026
These terms apply to every booking made directly with VP Activities GmbH, trading as Swiss Local Adventures ("we", "us"), on swisslocaladventures.ch, by email, by phone or by WhatsApp. Bookings made on GetYourGuide, Viator or another platform follow that platform's cancellation terms. The version of these terms in force on the day you book applies to your booking.
1. Who we are
VP Activities GmbH, Hauptstrasse 172, 3852 Ringgenberg BE, Switzerland. UID CHE-202.472.629. contact@swisslocaladventures.ch, +41 76 721 14 43.
2. What we sell and who your contract is with
Our own tours. We organise and guide them ourselves: for example the Farm Tour, the Wine Tour, sunset sledding and fondue, snowshoe tours, sunset walks and private tours. Your contract for these tours is with us.
Services of other providers. We also sell services that other companies provide:
- activities run by independent, licensed operators, for example skydiving, paragliding, hang gliding and kayaking;
- tickets for trains, cable cars, mountain railways and boats;
- tickets for events;
- accommodation.
For these, we act as an intermediary on behalf of the provider. Your contract for the service itself is with the provider, whose name we give you before you pay. The provider's own terms, safety rules and insurance apply, and we show you its cancellation terms before you pay. We are responsible for passing on your booking and your payment correctly, not for how the provider delivers the service. When you pay us for a service of another provider, we also handle any refund the provider grants.
Transport tickets. The transport company's conditions apply, including its rules on refunds, changes and lost tickets. Most tickets cannot be cancelled once issued, unless the transport company allows it. Keep your e-ticket safe: the transport company may refuse a copied ticket, and for unnamed tickets it serves whoever shows a valid ticket first. When you combine tickets and activities of different providers, check the times yourself. We are not responsible for a missed connection between services that different providers run.
Event tickets. The organiser runs the event and decides on any postponement or cancellation. If the organiser cancels, we pass on the refund or the alternative the organiser offers, within its deadlines. Tickets are for your own use and may not be resold. Minimum ages and entry rules come from the organiser.
Accommodation. When we book accommodation for you, the property's terms apply, including its payment and cancellation rules, which we show you before you pay. A local tourist tax may be added to the price and paid at the property.
Links to other booking sites. Some links on our website take you to other sites, for example GetYourGuide, Booking.com or Stay22. If you book there, your contract is with that site or its provider, and their terms apply. We may earn a commission on that booking. You pay the same price.
Several services in one booking. If you book several services together, for example an activity and a train ticket, each service remains a separate contract with its own provider. We do not sell package travel unless we call an offer a "package" in writing. For such an offer, the Swiss Federal Act on Package Travel applies, and we give you its specific terms before you book.
Plan My Day and travel information. Plan My Day, our chat assistant and the travel tips on our website (timetables, opening dates, prices of other providers, routes) are suggestions we prepare with care, partly with the help of artificial intelligence. Check times and conditions with the provider before you travel. A plan becomes a booking only when you book and pay a service. We are responsible only for the services you book with us, as described in these terms.
3. Booking and payment
- Your booking is confirmed when you receive our confirmation email and payment has gone through.
- Prices are in Swiss francs (CHF) per person unless stated otherwise. They include Swiss VAT and every mandatory fee, including booking and service fees. Only a local tourist tax for accommodation may come on top, and we show it separately.
- Tours booked online are paid in full at booking, by card through Stripe.
- Private tours are also paid in full at booking. If we agree otherwise in writing, a 50 % deposit is due at booking and the balance on the date we agree, before the tour.
- If a price on the website is clearly wrong because of a technical error, we may cancel the booking and refund you in full.
4. If you cancel
These rules apply to our own tours. Services of other providers follow the provider's cancellation terms, which we show you before you pay (see section 2).
- 48 hours or more before the start time: full refund.
- Less than 48 hours before the start time, or no-show: no refund.
- Cancel by email to contact@swisslocaladventures.ch. The time we receive your message counts.
- You can ask to move your booking to another date instead. We will do our best, subject to availability.
- Refunds go back to the payment method you used, usually within 5 to 10 business days.
- Private tours: the guide and the vehicle are reserved for you alone, so the limit is 5 days. Full refund if you cancel 5 days or more before the start time; less than 5 days before, or no-show: no refund.
- Our activities take place on a set date, so the 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts does not apply. The cancellation rules above apply instead.
5. If we cancel or change a tour
- We run our tours in most weather. We cancel when conditions are unsafe: storms, avalanche risk, unsafe roads, or conditions that make the activity dangerous. The guide decides on the day.
- If we cancel, you choose between another date, another activity or a full refund.
- We may adjust the programme, the route or the timing on the day for safety, weather or access reasons, as long as the tour keeps its main character.
- We may also cancel if too few people are booked, or for logistical or operational reasons we cannot solve, for example a closed cable car or road, or a guide or vehicle unavailable at short notice. We tell you as early as we can, and the choice above applies: another date, another activity or a full refund.
- We are not responsible for costs you have booked elsewhere, such as trains, hotels or flights, if a tour is cancelled.
- If a provider cancels or changes one of its services, its own terms apply. We pass on the refund or the alternative it offers.
6. Taking part
- Please read the "Who's this for" section of each activity and tell us at booking about anything that matters for your safety: health conditions, pregnancy, allergies, reduced mobility, children's ages.
- You must be fit enough for the activity you book. Snowshoe tours, walks and sledding need basic fitness and suitable clothing and shoes.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult. Minimum ages are given on each activity page.
- Alcohol is served only to guests aged 16 and over for wine and beer, and 18 and over for spirits, as Swiss law requires. We may ask for ID.
- Follow the guide's safety instructions at all times. Sledding is done at your own pace and under your own control.
- The guide may exclude anyone whose behaviour endangers themselves or others, or who is clearly under the influence of alcohol or drugs, without refund.
- Be at the meeting point on time. If you are late, we wait 10 minutes, and 15 minutes at the most. After that the tour leaves, the booking counts as a no-show and is not refunded.
7. Insurance
Our prices do not include personal accident, travel or cancellation insurance. We recommend that you have your own.
8. Liability
- We organise our tours with care and are liable under Swiss law for damage we cause.
- We are not liable for slight negligence, to the extent Swiss law allows. This does not limit our liability for intent, gross negligence, or for death or personal injury where the law does not allow such a limitation.
- We are not liable for loss or theft of personal belongings, except where caused by our fault.
- For services of other providers, the provider is liable for how it delivers the service (see section 2).
9. Photos
On some tours our guides take photos and videos and send them to you. We publish a photo or video in which you can be recognised only if you agree. Tell the guide if you prefer not to be photographed.
10. Complaints
If something went wrong, tell the guide on the spot so we can fix it, or write to contact@swisslocaladventures.ch within 30 days after the tour.
11. Personal data
We handle your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Swiss law. The courts at our registered office have jurisdiction, subject to mandatory rules that allow consumers to sue in the courts of their place of residence.
If these terms exist in several languages, the English version prevails.
