Some moments stay with you long after the flight ends. Tandem paragliding in Interlaken offers a rare, almost unreal perspective of the Swiss Alps — floating silently above turquoise lakes, alpine villages and legendary mountain peaks. Lift off and discover the region from above, suspended between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, with the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau rising in front of you. It’s not about adrenaline alone, but about freedom, perspective and a memory that feels uniquely Swiss.

Trip Details

- Tandem flight over Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, with the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau in front of you - Certified local pilot, pre-flight briefing and all safety equipment included - Six departures a day between 8:30 and 15:00 - Gentle and quiet: freedom and perspective more than raw adrenaline - No experience needed, children welcome if they meet the safety requirements
Paragliding is Interlaken's signature: quiet, gentle, and higher than any viewpoint you can walk to. Your AlpinAir pilot meets the group in Interlaken and drives you 20 minutes up to their private take-off at Beatenberg, 1,350 metres above sea level, facing the lakes. The take-off asks almost nothing of you. A short briefing, a few running steps, and the wing lifts you both. Then it is 10 to 20 minutes of floating: Lake Thun on one side, Lake Brienz on the other, and the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau lined up in front of you. Tell your pilot what you want, silence and views or a few stunts over the rooftops. You land on the Höhematte, the big lawn in the middle of Interlaken, where your friends can film the arrival. Your pilot shows you his photos and videos on a tablet right there; take them home for CHF 40 if you like them. Door to door the whole thing takes about 75 minutes. It fits before breakfast or between two trains.
- CHF 190 per person - Photos and videos by your pilot: CHF 40, paid on the spot after the flight
- Tandem paragliding flight with a certified local pilot - All necessary safety equipment - Pre-flight briefing and on-site guidance - A unique bird’s-eye perspective of the Jungfrau region
- Comfortable outdoor clothing suitable for the weather - Sturdy, closed shoes (hiking or sports shoes recommended) - Sunglasses - A light jacket, even on sunny days - No good shoes or warm jacket with you? Shoes, jackets and ski pants can be borrowed free of charge
- No previous experience required, your pilot handles everything - From 5 years old, with a parent's declaration of consent - Weight between 25 and 90 kg (80 kg for early morning and evening flights, the upwinds are weaker) - Every passenger needs accident and health insurance valid in Switzerland
All year long, depending on weather conditions You can find the current trip times under book now (booking button)
- Morning flights often offer the calmest air and the smoothest conditions - Don’t overthink it — the flight feels gentle and surprisingly peaceful - Take a moment after landing to look back at where you flew — it’s often when the memory really sinks in
Your flight runs with AlpinAir, one of Interlaken's established paragliding schools: licensed tandem pilots, a private take-off site in Beatenberg at 1,350 metres, and more than 2,000 verified reviews averaging 4.9. Every pilot flies with a full HD camera system and shows you the footage on a tablet right after landing. You land on the Höhematte, in the middle of Interlaken, where your friends can watch you arrive. We resell their Top Flight because it is the classic Interlaken paragliding done properly: short, high, and straight over the town.
*Do I need experience? No. A short briefing, a few running steps at take-off, and your licensed pilot does the rest. *How long is the flight? 10 to 20 minutes in the air depending on conditions, about 75 minutes for the whole trip. *Are there age or weight limits? From 5 years old with a parent's declaration of consent. Weight between 25 and 90 kg; early morning and evening flights are limited to 80 kg because the upwinds are weaker. *What should I wear? Weather-appropriate clothes and solid shoes. Shoes, jackets and ski pants can be borrowed free of charge. *Can I take my phone up? Phones and selfie sticks stay on the ground during the flight. Your pilot films with an HD camera system and sells you the files for CHF 40 after landing. *Where do I end up after landing? On the Höhematte in the centre of Interlaken; there is no drop-off back to the meeting point, but everything is within walking distance. *What if the weather is bad? You move the flight to another time or get a full refund.
